Often overshadowed by Rioja, Ribera del Duero produces big, bold, textured Tempranillos (aka ‘Tinto Fino’ or ‘Tinto de Pais’) that have become some of Spain’s most sought-after and collected wines. This relatively young appellation, which gained D.O. status in 1982, has also achieved prestige in the global wine arena, where the wines have earned great critical acclaim – along with commensurate high prices – as the wines can develop remarkable complexity over time, while maintaining balanced acid and fruit.

This in-store event will showcase some of the region’s best, ranging from delicious, affordable reds to several of the most coveted and rare examples. Sample wines from Pago de los Capellanes and Altos del Terral as well as multiple wines from Bodegas y Vinedos Vega Sicilia! Taste how Ribera del Duero’s winemakers combine traditional expertise with new technologies to create their own distinctive wine character. Antonio Martinez of Antalva Imports and Giammario Villa of Golden State Wines will pour their fine wines and answer your questions about Ribera del Duero.
