We are honored to host eight German and Austrian pre-eminent women winemakers. This very special tasting will introduce you to a broad spectrum of wines, and the people who bring them forth. You’ll meet Hannah Selbach of Selbach-Oster, whose Mosel wines exemplify the classic regional style, and Theresa Breuer from the Rheingau, whose father Bernhard was instrumental in promoting dry Riesling in the 1980’s. Laura Schneider’s Nahe estate possesses 52 different soil types, mostly on slate and volcanic rock, and Caroline Diel of Nahe’s Schlossgut Diel produces wines from several Grosses Gewächs sites. You’ll taste minimal-intervention wines from Heiki Darting of the Pfalz. Austria’s Schloss Gobelsburg, represented by export manager Barbara Koller, is on the site of the Zwettl Monastery, founded in 1074. Burgenland innovator Heidi Schrock and Wachau biodynamic pioneer Anna Nikolaihof will join us too. You’ll want to show up for this one – a rare and extraordinary opportunity indeed!
