The Good Food Trade Show Returns To The 15th Annual Good Food Expo

Join FamilyFarmed to kick off the 15th Annual Good Food EXPO on Friday, March 22nd with the Good Food Trade Show. Friday topics will include regenerative agriculture (sustainable practices that build soil health while capturing carbon to slow climate change), the renaissance in hemp production as legal restrictions fall, converting farmland to organic from conventional production, bringing more farm-to-table sourcing to restaurants, growing better grain, and Chicago’s role as an urban agriculture center.
The Opening Symposium will kick off with Walter Robb, former co-CEO of the Whole Foods Market company, participating in the presentation of the Good Food Business of the Year Award to Luke Saunders of Farmer's Fridge. The symposium will additionally included an address by Dave Donnan, longtime senior partner and global food and beverage lead for the A.T. Kearney management consulting firm, on how the Good Food Industry landscape has changed since the first EXPO in 2004. Mitchell Davis, chief strategy officer for the James Beard Foundation, will also join the morning agenda with an address discussing the enduring relevance of farm-to-table. Routes for Farm will additionally be awarded the Farmer of the Year award.
Later that evening, the 2019 Good Food Chef of the Year ceremony will take place at the Networking Reception.
The award will be presented to local farm-to-table pioneer Jason Hammel of Lula Cafe, celebrating its own 20th
anniversary, and his newer hit, Marisol at the Museum of Contemporary Art.Jason just was named Chef of the Year at the 2019 Jean Banchet Awards for the best in Chicago-area restaurants.
