World-renowned Brazilian vocalist Neusa Sauer joins beloved guitarist Luciano Antonio and percussionist Geraldo De Oliveira to open the night with Brazilian Bossa Nova and Sambas Tradicionais.Copacabana Trio brings sensibility and passion to performance because of the consummate musical qualities of its members. Neusa Sauer, Luciano Antonio, and Geraldo de Oliveira comprise the group; they bring a wealth of experience playing works rooted in samba, bossa nova, and jazz. A seamless blending of voices and instruments marks Copacabana Trio’s renditions including masterpieces by Antônio Carlos Jobim, Baden Powell and João Bosco. Additionally, the trio’s vast repertoire includes original compositions by Luciano Antonio, gorgeous Latin ballads, and distinct interpretations of classics by Cole Porter. The camaraderie of Trio Copacabana honors the professional and personal relationship its members hold with each other and with their music.
