HELLO GRAPE STOMP GUESTS!

We are excited to be hosting our annual Grape Stomp event again and we look forward to meeting all of you.  In order to make it a smooth and efficient day we thought we’d send along details of the itinerary and important information you’ll need to plan your day here at Kalyra Winery.  Please take the time to read through all of the information.

Event Date: October 12th, 2019

10:00 – 11:00 a.m Check in. Please check in at the appropriate table to receive your wristband. You will need to pick up ONLY your wristband, you cannot pick up for others in your group as we need to ID; so bring your ID.  Being prepared will make it faster and easier for everyone.  There will be separate check in tables for members, non-members and groups to help make check in faster.  The event will Sell OUT and there will be a waiting list…if you cannot make it let us know, but no other tickets will be available at the door.

PARKING: PLEASE follow the instructions of the parking helpers who will be on the driveway directing parking. Carpooling is encouraged, as is selecting a designated driver or using taxi or Uber services. Drinking and Driving is illegal and dangerous for all.

Bring your lawn chairs, blankets etc. to find your spot on the back or side lawns. We do have tables and chairs on the side lawn and porch available for all to share.  If you forget, don’t worry we have the very famous Senor Lopez picnic blankets for sale in the retail shopߘŠ

PETS: While we welcome pets most days, this is a day to leave the pets at home. It is a loud event with music, many people, heat and sun, lots of cars and not a good environment for pets, so please be kind to them and leave them at home, with a friend and in a safe place.

Sunscreen and a hat are great …it’s generally warm here and we have lots of sunshine, so best to cover up.  Comfortable shoes are best and remember your feet will be Grape StompingߘŠ

Grape Stomping begins at NOON and ENDS at 2:30pm, make sure you dress in clothing that can get splashed on with grape juice—it will happen! Lucy costumes and Togas encouraged—there will be prizes!  Also, be sure you are here in time to get a chance to stomp the grapes. If you have a SEVERE bee or sting allergy please come prepared and/or skip the stomping part of the event…it is inevitable that with the grape season in full swing bees and yellow jackets are in the area of the grape stomping. It’s never really a problem, but we do want those who do not live in this area to be aware of it.

Tractor rides will begin at 1:00 pm and end PROMPTLY at 4:00 pm…you will be given a ticket for the tractor rides (1 per person please, children must be accompanied by an adult).

Food truck will be available for food purchases: Food Trucks will all be on hand to serve food.  Food Trucks can take credit, but cash is appreciated and will be faster due to slow internet here. You are welcome to bring your own picnic. NOTE: no alcohol other than Kalyra wine can be brought to or consumed at Kalyra.  You may bring an empty refillable water container to fill on site.  Our license is very specific and we will have to ask those not abiding by this rule to leave the event…and we don’t want to have to do that, so please remember this.

Wine by the glass and bottle will be available for sale in addition to the wine that comes with your ticket. We will not be doing wine tastings this day.

Music will begin at around noon and end around 4:30. BAND TBD

We’ll have raffles too…look for the announcements during band breaksߘŠ  Of course, we’ll also have some amazing wine specials, case specials and rare/endangered species wines for sale this day!

Event will end at 5:00 pm with last pour at 4:45.

Questions call 805-693-8864 and we look forward to sharing our Wild and Pleasant place with you
