Have you ever had a wine from Moldova? Do you even know where Moldova is?  The landlocked, former Soviet-bloc nation is located between Romania to its west and Ukraine to its north, east and south. Decades ago, Moldova was known within the Soviet Union for making that country’s best wine. In the past few years, several new, privately owned wineries have opened up and raised the bar; the best of these offer overnights with lavish meals and tastings.

Moldova has the greatest density of vineyards in the world, cultivates indigenous varietals like Feteasca Alba, Feteasca Neagra, Rara Neagra, Traminer, and Saperavi.

1.Cricova Crisecco  $10.99

Pale lemon coloration with creamy & persistent richness; floral notes with hints of peach, apple, pear & crisp accents of citrus, followed by a rich and lingering finish.
90% Festeasca Alba, 10% Muscat

2.Castel Mimi Feteasca Alba  $11.99

An easy and elegant wine that declares at first its naunces of greenish yellow citrus aromas, then it gradually opens to fresh notes of a pleasantly fragrant apricot taste, witha discreet acidity

3.Fautor Chardonnay  $19.99

Love Cali Chard? This a must try for yoy!Citrusy-mineral, refreshingly crisp and herbaceous, with a nuanced woody accent. This is a silky and sharp wine at the same time, with a great overall balance between fruit, barrique and minerality.

4.Timbrus Rara Neagra  $19.99 –The Wildcard!

Elegant delicate red wine, very light in colour, pomegranate with lush tears. Ripe floral nose with black roses and violets with stewed prunes and juniper jam, and dried spice. Velvety smooth taste onset, elegant and balanced with super soft tannins, light yet ripe in the very fruity retro.

5. Timbrus Saperavi  $19.99

Deep ruby color and pleasant aromas of black and red fruit. It tastes of ripe black and red cherries, prunes and figs, tones of leather and a hint of roses. The taste is full and firm, with a subtle bitterness and earthy tones of leather and wood.

6. Chateau Vartely Tarabostes Red Blend $24.99

Taraboste was the name given by the Romans to the Geto-Dacian Aristocrats. Chateau Vartely chose this name in order to illustrate the original nobility of the wine. Along with an elegant aroma, this wine is distinguished by notes of black cherries with nuances of nuts and cigar box, altogether contributing to an exceptional quality and taste.

Wines will be accompanied by a selection of cheeses, crackers, artisanal breads &olive oil. The cost for one flight (a sample of each of the wines) will be $12.
