Yes, the famous estates and regions of Burgundy have become ridiculously expensive. But there’s value to be found in Burgundy if you know how and where to look – and no one knows how to look for value in hidden corners of France than Falls Church-based importer Ed Addiss of Wine Traditions. So come and experience seven Burgundies you can afford to drink without compromise in quality or joy paired with a classic Burgundian feast from Chef Jacques Imperato!
Our theme is “Unexpected Burgundy Pleasure” and our method is to explore some great small producers working in overlooked regions. Not only is the quality/price ratio (“QPR”) unexpected – even the order we’ll serve the wines is! From pink to red to white to back to red and then mature Chablis as the grand finale, the only thing “traditional” about this meal is the quality of Jacques’ cooking and the delight of great Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Here’s the menu and wines:
Aperitif
Marcel Giraudon Bourgogne Rose 2017
Chicken liver, pork confit, topped with crispy flaky dough
Beet, cranberry, strawberry onion compote, red wine vinegar
Marcel Giraudon Bourgogne Rouge 2017

Dom Geoffrey Chevalier Pouilly Loche 2015
