A Tasting Of Wines From Alto Piemonte
Thu, May 17, 2018 (6:30 PM - 8:00 PM)
Cost: $25
At Some Good Wine we are huge fans and collectors of the highly unknown and esoteric land called the Alto Piemonte. You've probably heard of Barolo and Barbaresco; Dolcetto and Barbera, but unbeknownst to many, there is much more.....
Ninety miles northeast of Alba, hidden at the base of the Italian Alps, is the little-known winegrowing area of Alto Piemonte. The region, which acquired its name more for its high altitude than for its relative location to the Langhe (the name literally translates to ‘high Piedmont’), is an Alpine paradise set amid forest-clad hills on the banks of the Sesia River.
We will be joined by Blake Johnson of Rosenthal Selections, a company who was one of the first to import wines from this region and put it on the map. Very few people in the industry are as well versed as Blake and can discuss the highly intricate and varied styles of wines that stem from here. A must education for any aspiring wine lover. Thursday, May 17th from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.
