Special: The Ned Rosé
Wed April 18, 5-7pm, sale all day
This 2016 Rosé from The Ned in New Zealand is tasting beautifully. Last year it was $16.99 on the shelf, but we got a great deal because the distributor wants to make room for the new vintage. We are offering it for $11.99, regular shelf price, discounted to $9.59 for April 18. However, when it’s gone, it’s gone. It’s relatively full for a rose, with lots of fruit. As the winery says “A highly versatile wine that neatly bridges the gap between stand-alone, afternoon sipper and being enjoyed alongside a broad range of diverse food styles.” The winery recommends drinking the wine within 3 years of the vintage date, so there’s still another year to go. Come and taste it for yourself.
Marisco Vineyards, The Ned, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris 30%, Rosé, New Zealand, 2016, “A wonderfully scented and pure fruited aroma that melds elements of red berry compote and watermelon with subtle woody notes of sunwarmed raspberry canes. A sensitively handled blend of two Pinot varieties; one where the Noir delivers a long, saturated core of pure berry fruit flavour with crisp acid edges and a lightly drying tannin tail whilst the Gris provides the perfect juxtaposition – a subtle richness that lends fruit sweetness, flesh and palate texture.”
