We’re fortunate to get to visit Oregon’s Willamette Valley annually and spend time with a great mixture of veteran and up-and-coming winemakers. No visit is more exciting than Walter Scott Wines. The husband/wife team of Ken Pahlow & Erica Landon started making wine in a corner of Patty Green’s cellar about a decade ago. Now they have their own small winery and have emerged as makers of some of Oregon’s most refined and classically styled Pinot Noirs…and as leaders in the resurgence of Willamette Valley Chardonnay.
Plus, both Ken and Erica are just really cool people who are a blast to taste with and get to know! As you’ll discover yourself when you join us for this exciting tasting of Ken and Erica’s stellar 2016 releases. We’ll be finalizing the line-up as we get closer to the event, but we know it will include at least two of their distinctive Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs from Freedom Hill, Temperance Hill and the legendary Seven Springs vineyard.
Erica will present the wines, share the Walter Scott story, and draw on her experience as a top Portland Sommelier to help us understand how the wines work at table with a huge range of foods. We’ll serve a little food, too – light snacks to help the wines shine even brighter than they do on their own. A class you won’t want to miss. Reserve your seats online right now or call us at the store – 703.356.6500 – and we’ll sign you up!
