5 Wines from Israel
Recanati Winery
Saturday, March 24th
Trapp Family Lodge Wine Cellar
Israel has a long history of wine making dating back to biblical times of course and beyond.
Today they export a good deal of what they produce to satisfy world-wide demand for kosher wines. Until the 1980’s nearly all wines made in Israel were for sacramental purposes, in other words the quality was pretty low but in the 80’s some serious attempts at producing quality wines succeeded and they’ve continued to improve.
Recanati, an Italian family that moved to Israel in the early 1900s, has been making wines since 2000. They are Israel’s sixth largest winery.
We will taste three whites and two reds.
Price is $20. Please call or see the front desk to place reservations. 802 253-5742. Doors open @ 4:00. I suggest you arrive no later than 5:00 to avoid feeling rushed. People come and go during the tasting which is an informal walk around format. We end at 6:00
