Please join us this Saturday for what promises to be a fantastic tasting.
Larry wondered in to the shop last year, and while I normally would not taste wines from a new supplier without an appointment my instincts told me to give him a shot. I’m very glad I did! Larry Boone is a great guy with an excellent story and most importantly his wines are authentic and have great character and soul. Come by and meet him-he’s a rising star. -Phil Bernstein, MacArthur Beverages

Throughout the years, work has allowed Lawrence to travel to many places in the world. Little did he know that one of those places would change his life forever. In one of his trips to Europe, the Catalonian region of Spain stole his heart with their culture, food and wine being second to none. Since then, Larry has become a lover of all things Spain and believes it is now his duty to share this passion for their culture and wines with everyone he meets. He is certified through the Philadelphia Wine School, and currently enrolled in WSET’s diploma program as well as Washington State University's enology program.

For Lawrence Boone, the process for starting his wine company Lawrence Boone Selections was “slow, tedious, and at times daunting.” I knew no one in the industry and had no idea about the normal channels needed for locating wineries or securing wines. So my wife and I took a list of published Robert Parker ratings from Catalonia and emailed everyone on the list. Only a few replied back, explaining they already had importers. We then decided to fly to Spain, rented a car and drove to each winery on that same list to personally entice someone to take a chance with a new importer. Our initial trip netted us only one very influential producer and two wines, but with persistence, we have added nine more wineries and 32 wines across Spain and Sicily.

2016 Cellars Sota Els Angels - Flow Rose
FLOW pink is a blend of Carignan, Merlot & Syrah, from husband and wife team Guy Jones & Maria Polanco. Hand harvested and fermented via native yeast, this natural wine is bottled unfiltered with minimum intervention. Flow has an intense nose with fruity aromas of wild strawberry, ripe red apple, peach, rose petal and lavender. It’s round & smooth with a crisp refreshing finish. This is a different type of rosé full of personality and extremely easy to drink.

2016 Casa Abril - Red Blend Coupage
In the heartland of Don Quixote’s Castillo La Mancha you’ll find Casa Abril’s small family run winery still making wine since the 17th century. Sustainably farmed, Casa Abril’s Coupage is a blend of Tempranillo, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon exhibiting notes of cherries, chocolate and spices on the nose. Juicy fresh red fruit on the palate with a layer of spice, this wine is meant to be enjoyed in good company over a long meal.

2015 Antoine Touton & Fredi Torres - Montsant La Seleccion
From international House-music DJ now turned Viticulturist, Fredi Torres La Seleccion is a blend of Grenache & Carignan from his cool, windy vineyard in Montsant. Naturally fermented with 20% full clusters, La Seleccion was kept in stainless steel for 9 months before being bottled. The overall sensation is one of ripeness but balance. This Montsant has fresh acidity, moderate alcohol and light tannins and is definitely not trying to be Priorat! A complex wine that goes down easy.

Sku: 73578 | $24.99
2015 Silice Vitcultores Mencia Ribera Sacra
From old vines on ultra steep, pure rock slopes in Ribeira Sacra, Silice Viticultores are nursing neglected vines back to health and making exciting wines. The 2015 vintage used 30% whole clusters and fermentation was completed in a used foudre (5200L) with indigenous yeast. Silice is a blend of Mencía, Albarello, Merenzao & Grenache with lovely aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry, black liquorice, pomegranate and cherry sauce. Medium bodied with pleasing complexity.
