Weekly Wine Tasting With

Jeff D'Andrea of Brescome Barton

Lucien Albrecht Cremant D'Alsace Rosé N.V.$17.99
Tart red currant, rhubarb and strawberry come together in a very refreshing, rounded and appetizing fashion. The frothy, foaming mousse is exuberant and highlights these strawberry shortcake flavors brilliantly, while a totally dry palate makes sure that this stays classy. This is very satisfying, fun and fruit-driven, with a serious core and a bright, lemony finish.

Chalk Hill Sonoma Coast Chardonnay 2016 $19.99
The Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is golden in color. Aromas of yellow apple, melon, citrus zest and mango meld beautifully with notes of toasted hazelnut and vanilla custard from the oak aging. Pure and rich with an elegant palate, it displays fruit-forward flavors of golden apple, nectarine, and guava with subtle hints of butterscotch. With its cool-climate inuences, this Chardonnay has remarkable varietal intensity, balanced acidity and mineral notes that complement the rich and full flavors of baked apples, and vanilla cream.

Nieto Senetiner Malbec 2016 $11.99
Well defined and intense wine, deep red color. Its notes of small red fruit and plum blend with the aroma of vanilla imparted by its aging in French oak. The mouth has strong personality, distinguished body, harmonious and sensual; displaying all its varietal personality.

Stags Leap Wine Cellars Artemis Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 $49.99

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Artemis is a blend of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot and Malbec. Among the top wines, it’s the least expensive red in the Stag’s Leap portfolio. An elegant style of wine, with notes of cedar wood, black and red currants and spice box, this medium-bodied, delicious, complex and elegant wine could easily pass for a second- or third-growth Bordeaux in a blind tasting. It should drink nicely for another 10-15 years. 90pts Robert Parker
