Anna Matzinger of Matzinger Davies - one of Oregon's top cult wineries - is our guest today.
Anna spent the last 14 years working for Archery Summit where she rose to winemaker and co-general manager and helped lead the organization to the place it now holds as a premier producer of Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. While there she worked to articulate the unique style, personality and distinction of the Estate vineyards, garnered numerous accolades and helped steward and nurture both winery and brand in its growth as a producer of world class wines.
Michael Davies, a New Zealander by birth (and inclination) is the winemaker for both REXHILL Vineyards and A to Z Wineworks. He has held this position since 2006 and brings to it his unique form of intensity, precision and sincerity. Prior to that he managed the vineyards and assisted in winemaking for five years at Chehalem winery after completing a post graduate diploma from Lincoln University and gaining experience through numerous vintages in both Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
They established the Matzinger Davies Wine Company in 2006 with the intention of producing wines with a resonant voice speaking to their geographic origin, varietal typicity and season. Authenticity, vibrancy and integrity should be their calling cards.
Today's tasting flight includes the wines of both Matzinger Davies and Anam Cara.
