An annual celebration of gourmet food and drink held over ten days in May in this historic town. The first weekend of the Festival (usually the second weekend in May) is the International Food Market when the High Street is closed to traffic and filled with over 100 stalls selling a huge variety of food and drink. The town's restaurants, cafes, bars and tea shops hold a number of special meals and food-related events over the ten days.
