April 28th: Introduction to Spanish Wines
Join us as we learn the story of Spain’s winemaking history, key regions and native varietals.
Spain is an ancient wine-producing country that vies with France and Italy as the number-one wine producer in the world. With a heritage of over three thousand years, there's evidence to prove that vines were planted in the Peninsula long before the Phoenicians founded Cadiz and established it as a trading post. Wines from along the sunny Mediterranean coast all the way to the cooler Atlantic coast were traded and consumed by the Romans.
We will taste wines ranging from aromatic white wines of Galicia to fresh rosés from Navarra and the various wine styles of red wine.
