Local Wine Events

The Toronto Vintners Club was founded in June 1975 making it Toronto's first and now longest operating, private, wine tasting club. The club purchases wines from all regions of the world for its extensive cellar to be enjoyed by members and their guests 9 times per year (except in July, August and December). The club also hosts occasional wine-dinners at restaurants but primarily meets now at the University of Toronto's Faculty Club. The club's philosophy and purpose are to educate in the joys of drinking wine, to sample and evaluate wines from all over the world, and to do so in the friendly company of others. New members and guests are always welcome.

The South African Wine Society is a non-profit wine tasting club focused on promoting knowledge about and access to South African wines in Canada. Since 1990, this has been achieved by hosting informative wine tastings, relaxed social dinners and providing members with an opportunity to savour wines that are readily available, as well as vintage collections from our carefully stocked cellar.

The Portugal Wine Club is a non-profit wine tasting club focused on promoting knowledge about and access to Portuguese wines in Canada. Since 1994 this has been achieved by hosting informative wine tastings, relaxed social dinners and providing members with an opportunity to savour Portuguese wines. In 2012, we offered our wine tour of Portugal’s Douro Region timed to coincide with the spring season.

The AWS is a non-profit organization devoted to the enjoyment of Aussie wines. Through exposure to the wines & wine regions of Australia, the AWS encourages a greater awareness of the varietals & styles of Aussie wines, in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The opportunity to try a wide range of cellared wines makes it easier to decide what types to purchase through wine agents and the the LCBO. The monthly events include sit-down & walk-around tastings and wine dinners at many fine restaurants.
