Over the course of approximately one year and starting with hand-sorting through fresh, whole clusters of Napa and Sonoma fruit, which we ship fresh each year in October, you can be as much involved or as little involved as you like. You will literally pull the leaves out of the whole clusters of grapes that will become your wine. You can do punch-downs during fermentation, participate in the press, regular barrel tastings, blending and oaking, and even bottling and custom labeling your own wine. Pleasant Hill Winery
Bob and Jeanne Cottle began as home winemakers in the early 1970's. A lovely piece of land was purchased in Brenham in 1992. Planting and building began, and in 1997, Pleasant Hill Winery opened its doors as Texas' 27th commercial winery. About a dozen award-winning wines are produced. Grapes come from the Brenham vineyard, The Texas Davis Mountains vineyard and from all over the great state of Texas. You can visit the winery on weekends year-round to tour, taste and shop.
