Cantara Cellars, Winery and Tasting Room
Cantara Cellars is a local winery with tasting room producing a broad selection of award-winning red and white wines. Located in the heart of Ventura County, we're just a short drive from where ever you are. Our winery specializes in producing wines that express both our passion for making fine wines, and our enjoyment of the distinctive flavors found in Lodi grapes. The Winery and Tasting Room are open Thursday - Sunday 11 am to 5 pm for tasting and tours. Wine is also served by the bottle, glass or flight on our cozy lounge. Rosenthal-The Malibu Estate and Surfrider Wines
Rosenthal – The Malibu Estate wines are from grapes grown in Malibu, not on the famous beach, but in a scenic valley four miles from the coast, 1,400-feet up, above the coastal fog, in the AVA Malibu Newton Canyon. George Rosenthal, owner of movie studios, hotels, and other enterprises, first planted vineyards at his 250 acre estate in 1987, after spending two years checking soil and weather conditions to make sure he planted the correct varietals in the correct locations. 32 acres of hillside vines are now planted in this unique micro-climate. Surfrider Wines are the newest addition to Rosenthal - The Malibu Estate. The grapes for our Surfrider wines are sourced everywhere from Malibu to Monterey and celebrate the California beach lifestyle. A portion of the proceeds for each bottle sold goes to the Surfrider Foundation - a grassroots, non-profit, environmental organization that works to protect our oceans, waves, and beaches. Tours of our private estate are available by appointment only. Julie LePla Winery
The winery, owned and operated by Julie Larson, is the second in Vacaville. By anyone’s terms the winery is small. Using grapes from the half acre of Zinfandel vines on Red Bud Ranch, the production started with 80-100 cases annually. Now additional varietals are made from sourced grapes. Each case represents the sweat, the challenge and the joy of the cycles of grape-growing and wine-making. Tasting at the winery are by appointment only but Julie LePla wines are also tasted and sold at Root Stock in Winters, CA (www.rootstock.com).
