Vintners Own Winery
Would you like to make your own premium Napa Valley wine right here in the Houston Heights? Vintners Own Winery specializes in custom barrel production where we involve our clients in the winemaking experience. Over the course of approximately one year and starting with hand-sorting through fresh, whole clusters of Napa and Sonoma fruit, which we ship fresh each year in October, you can be as much involved or as little involved as you like. You will literally pull the leaves out of the whole clusters of grapes that will become your wine. You can do punch-downs during fermentation, participate in the press, regular barrel tastings, blending and oaking, and even bottling and custom labeling your own wine. We've even produced award-winning wines with honors from the HLSR International Wine Competition. Kinkead Ridge Estate Winery
The mission of Kinkead Ridge is to produce ultra-premium estate-bottled wine in Southern Ohio (Ohio River Valley appellation), exclusively vinifera, with great attention and care paid to cultural practices and classic winemaking techniques. Our primary grape varieties are Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Viognier, and Riesling. Smaller quantities of Petit Verdot, Roussanne and Sauvignon Blanc fill out the mix. The owners grew Pinot Noir in Oregon for over ten years. The Kinkead vineyard was planted in 1999. Two Kinkead Ridge wines have been rated in the Top 100 Exciting Wine Finds in the world by Tom Stevenson, British editor of the New Sothebys Wine Encyclopedia. Kinkead Ridge is one of two Ohio wineries featured in Opus Vino, an internationally published wine reference book. Sweet Dreams Winery
We were partners in Mr and Ms Christmas Tree Farm from 1998 to 2002. We went to the State Christmas Tree Growers Association every year. At the convention, they had an auction. We bid on some homemade wine and Mike loved it! It was sweet and made him feel warm all over. When we were no longer able to get this wine, Mike decided to try making some of his own. Mike got a recipe from a friend and actually turned out a very good wine the first time! Lots of people were excited about drinking it from our sprite bottles! From there on, it was experiment time on our sun porch. We bought a small stainless steel tank to make more volume of wine, and still could not keep up with the demand of our family and friends. We asked them if they would buy it if we bottled it and put a cork in it, and they said yes! We decided to get out of our partnership with the tree farm and plant a vineyard. Several years later we started our building and here we are! We are a new winery, having opened September 23, 2006. Somewhere along the way, we won a Gold Medal for our Blackberry Grape wine in an amateur International Winemaker contest.

The vision of Sorelle Winery began in August of 2007, when our family purchased the historical Dodge Estate. The property has great history, leading back to 1776 where it began as fishing grounds for the Miwok Indians. The first known Americans visited this area in 1825 due to the abundance of wild grapes. Jonathon Holt Dodge purchased the property in 1857 and built a home in 1866 that stands on the property today. He planted a successful vineyard in collaboration with George West, a viticulturist and founder of the El Pinal Winery. It was one of the first in the county. Our family would like to honor the Dodge Family and their home by preserving it and its history. Stacked Stone Cellars began in 1998 when owner, Donald Thiessen, united his love of fine craftsmanship with a love of wine. Stacked Stone Cellars produces small quantities of hand crafted wine. Donald named his "liquid assets" after the elaborate stacked stone landscaping adorning the winery grounds and estate vineyard. The estate vineyard produces low yields of highly concentrated, jammy, and intense Zinfandel fruit. The vines are sustainably dry farmed and head pruned on the west side Paso Robles, where the soils are rich in minerals and nutrients. The soil is calcareous and siliceous composed of shale, mudstone, siltstone and limestone providing the optimum terroir for Zinfandel.
