Q&A: Wine & Food Questions

Organic Wines
I am trying to find some quality organic wines that are distributed in Florida. Some thing that sells for around $8-10 a bottle wholesale.
Answer From Expert Roger C. Bohmrich, MW
One brand offering USDA Organic wines of reliable quality is Frey from California. Their products are widely distributed and can be found in Florida retail stores. In the wholesale price range you mention, you could try the Frey Organic Chardonnay, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot (currently available at retail for $11.99 to $14.49 a bottle). If you are open to wines that are organically grown - but are not certified organic wines - you will find many options in any large wine store from California, Chile, France, Spain and other countries. The label will usually say "made from organic grapes."
