Question on tasting Etiquette

My husband was mildly irritated recently when our server poured me the glass of wine to taste after she uncorked the bottle ordered. Since I made the selection, was this appropriate?

Answer From Expert Roger C. Bohmrich, MW

The person selecting and ordering the wine has every right to assess the wine once served, unless that person asks someone else at the table, in front of the server, to act on his or her behalf. This is both common sense and respectful etiquette.
