Q&A: Wine, Food, Beer, Or Spirits Questions
wine at farmers markets
Can wine be sampled at a farmers market if winery cards individuals?Winery gives very small tasting cups. Is this legal ?where are the guidelines for farmers markets? Thanks Sande
Answer From Expert Roger C. Bohmrich, MW
This question should be directed to the appropriate state government organization that controls alcoholic beverages, or to an attorney versed in regulations of this type in that state. It is certainly not wise to proceed without obtaining authoritative information and official permission as the winery could be subject to a fine or, conceivably, suspension of its license.
