Juan Pedro earned the title of Sommelier in 1986 and was the first 18 year aged to achieve that distinction. He began his wine career as a teacher in Socuellamos wine region in 1988 and became a known exporter of this prestigious specialty retail wine shop in 1992. Vázquez also assists several prestigious restaurants with staff training and wine list development. With his assistance, La Mancha producers develop new procedures in wine making. He is consultant for the chamber of commerce and a regular contributor to the wine trade union publications. Juan Pedro enjoys sharing his enthusiasm for wine and food with the public through tastings, seminars, and wine festivals. He is a featured speaker at the Bordeaux Wine Festival and Sheraton Gastronomic Food & Wine Festival. He has put his palate to the test by judging in several regional and international wine competitions.
