Frederick Armstrong - Wine Director / Sommelier * In Good Taste * International Sommelier Guild
Fred Armstrong first developed a taste for wines in 1987 while touring France and Italy and drinking the local wines. In the early 1990’s, being a native Oregonian, he developed a love for local Pinot Noirs. This love for Pinots grew into a passion to learn more about wine and wine growing regions. After fifteen years in the telecommunication industry, Fred decided to take his career where his heart is, wine. In addition to occasionally lending a hand at some local wineries, Fred worked for a local wine distributor and teaches wine classes. Fred is now the Director of Wine at In Good Taste. He passed the two day International Sommelier Guild exam and is a certified Sommelier.

The Wine and Spirit Archive
The Wine and Spirit Archive offers wine, spirit and cocktail courses ranging from introductory level classes for beginners to professional certification courses for the beverage professional or those seeking to enter that industry. Our recreational classes dispense with the myths and intimidations surrounding the world of wine and spirits and give you the tools, vocabulary and tasting skills necessary to explore and enjoy these beverages. We limit our recreational courses to 10 students per class to foster interaction, exploration and conversation. Our professional certification courses are geared toward industry professionals currently working or seeking to work in establishments such as restaurants, retail outlets, or wineries, or in fields such as journalism, distribution, marketing, or education. We offer the world's foremost wine certification program through The Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) and are currently the only providers of this program in Oregon. This rigorous and challenging program is offered at the Intermediate and Advanced Levels and is internationally recognized among wine professionals and employers. We also teach private classes in homes and businesses. Please contact us for more information about corporate team building classes and events or private wine parties for your family and friends.
