Bio for John R. Stubblefield 127 Hillside Drive, Burlington, NC 27215 PH: 336.263.6644 E-Mail: jstubby@att.net John graduated from University of North Carolina in 1972 with a BS in Economics. John works as VP Sales of L. Barron & Associates, a company that specializes in sales of packaging to wineries and retail outlets throughout the U.S. In this position he is an active member of the NC Winegrowers Association and works with local wineries in developing food pairings for their wines. Through his association as wine trainer with Adventure Wine, he currently is involved in tastings and teachings throughout North Carolina. With over 30 years in the wine and spirits business, John worked in both on and off-premise liquor and wine sales for Southern Wine & Spirits. It was during this time he earned his Sommelier Certificate in 1994 from the Sterling School of Hospitality. His love of wine and interest in learning more about wine led him to work for Stacole Fine Wines in Boca Raton, FL in the late 90s. John is a member of The Society of Wine Educators, The French Wine Society (as a certified French Wine Educator), an affiliate member of the Zinfandel Advocate Producers Society, and The American Wine Society. He is currently studying for his CWE certification and working on development of a wine blog, Tarheel Terroir, and a wine education company/website, www.winetastingessentials.com.
