Sarah Ahmed, The Wine Detective
Award winning wine writer and educator Sarah Ahmed is available to present wine tastings to your brief. Sarah chose the name The Wine Detective because a glass of wine is not just a great source of pleasure, but also a source of clues about the grapes from which the wine is made, the age of the wine, how much it costs and where it is from. Her mission is to help others unlock these clues and enhance their appreciation of wine. For companies, wine societies, and individuals, The Wine Detective's tastings offer an informative and fun way of engaging with wine, equipping you with the skills to detect the clues in a glass of wine. Great for team-building or an informal get-together with colleagues, friends and clients, tastings provide an opportunity to learn more about wine and have some fun along the way! Areas of special interest include the Loire, South Africa, Australia (Sarah presents tastings for Wine Australia), Catalonia, Portugal and Italy. Sarah is a member of The Circle of Wine Writers.

Leiths School of Food and Wine
The Food and Wine Matching lectures are generally delivered by Nancy Gilchrist MW, another Master of Wine and we are lucky enough to have working with us on our courses. Nancy is a highly experienced speaker on the subject of matching wine with food, widely acknowledged as a particularly tricky subject, not least because tastes are so personal. However Nancy explains the principles of how food affects the flavour of wine (and vice versa) with such clarity and knowledge that the subject starts to make a great deal more sense. A key outcome of the session is that the audience leave with the ability to work out the right pairings for themselves in future. The Champagne lectures are generally delivered by Richard Bampfield MW, an experienced speaker and one of only 250 or so Masters of Wine in the world. Richard is responsible for the wine side of the Leiths Diploma in Food and Wine and has developed a speaking style that is both informative and informal. His audience often comment on his evident love of wine as a subject, and, by his own admission, Champagne is a particular weakness!
