A Summer Wine Festival In Greve in Chianti, Tuscany
The Chianti Classico Wine Festival (Rassegna del Chianti Classico) is held every year in the Tuscany town of Greve in Chianti, one hour south of Florence by bus and 45 minutes by car. The festival -- a showcase for Chianti Classico wines -- takes place in Piazza Matteotti in Greve in Chianti on the second weekend of September and the preceding Friday. You buy a glass and are then free to try any wine offered at the many stands. (It's possible that an additional small fee per taste fee might be introduced.)
