Hot Summer Night 2018: Wine Seminar August 24th 2018With pleasure, we invite you to join us on August 24th, 2018, for our “HOT AUGUST NIGHT 2018!” wine extravaganza featuring a totally HOT combination of exciting wines and guests from several of California’s most outstanding wineries.
Joining us for this outstanding event will be our longtime friend and trade partner Phil Ross from Diamond Creek, our new friend Ingrid Greiser from JCB and Secret Indulgence, and more to come.
DIAMOND CREEK VINEYARDS was founded by Boots & Al Brounstein in 1968. Al passed away several years ago, but PHIL ROSS, son of Boots, will be here to guide us through our annual Diamond Creek prerelease tasting. Their gorgeous estate on Diamond Mountain in Calistoga is famous for its diverse soils and micro-climates. Their descriptive vineyards of Red Rock Terrace, Volcanic Hill and Gravelly Meadow produce world-class Cabernet Sauvignons. This year, we’ll headline their “three hot 2016 gems.” If you can't attend call the Duke to pre-order your Diamond Creeks at the Pre-release Price.
KENEFICK RANCH was founded by Dr. Kenefick was a practicing neurosurgeon in San Francisco when he first visited the area in 1970 and fell in love with the Napa Valley. Eight years later, he found this remarkable property, a 250-acre Calistoga ranch. Tucked into the foothills of the craggy Palisades, the ranch looked out onto a beautiful valley set within two mountain ranges. Nearly half the property was planted with old Italian varietals that had been head-pruned and dry farmed.
DROUHIN Family's winemaking roots run deep, having taken hold in Burgundy's best vineyards more than a century ago. Through the years, there has been a very clear link, a continuum, that inhabits Maison Joseph Drouhin, and now Domaine Drouhin Oregon. They specialize in Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and have the luxury to offer Montrachet Marquis de la Guiche, very rare domaine and excellent wine.
HILLERSDEN: In 2013, Bruce Forlong and his family traded city life for the opportunity to plant roots in Marlborough, New Zealand. Moving into the old wooden farmhouse and embracing the dirt and cold, they took up the challenge of creating the first family-owned single designation wines of the Upper Wairau Valley. The vineyard has grown and blossomed in this unforgiving landscape; a product of the sustainably engineered approach implemented by lifetime engineer and innovator Bruce Forlong. As a family and vineyard team, they are always hard at work innovating to create new possibilities in the fields of solar energy, irrigation technologies, frost management and finding alternate uses for vineyard waste.
