Vertical Tasting with Huia Vineyards - An Exploration of New Zealand Throughout The Years

Join us in our intimate barrel room for an unforgettable evening! Over the course of the evening, you will have the opportunity to taste over 11 vintages from the highly regarded wines of Huia Vineyards out of Marlborough, New Zealand. This is the first event of its kind, as a side by side comparison of these wines has never before been available in the US market. Come and see why New Zealand is now considered one of the most important wine growing regions today.

About Huia Vineyards:

Claire and Mike Allan planted the first vines in 1994 and formerly started Huia Vineyards in 1996. Both worked at other wineries around the valley before starting Huia.  Mike worked at Cloudy Bay where he was responsible for starting the sparkling wine program and also worked at Vavasour. This hands-on experience gave great grounding in making New World wines, but also integrated an appreciation of the sense of land, heritage and tradition from the old world.
Huia Vineyards uses no pesticides, insecticides or herbicides in their vineyards.  Within in the wine making process they eliminate the use of artificial additives.
Biodynamic growing is integrated into the vineyard's organic program.  Animals graze on the vineyard blocks, and the diversity of wild flowers, trees and other plants keep the resident beehives busy.  By composting the winery and vineyards waste allows the return all natural matter back to the vineyard.
