Hot art. Cool jazz. Great wines! The 23rd annual West End Arts Festival is a feast for the eyes, ears and palate with a line-up that includes exhibits from fine artists from throughout the Midwest plus culinary demonstrations from local chefs, wine tastings led by sommeliers and live jazz performances throughout the weekend.
Visitors may browse and purchase from 60 top artists with works that include oils, acrylics, photography, jewelry, pottery, fabrics and sculpture.
THE ART OF WINE TENT is sponsored by Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage and provides a selection of 40 varietals along with commentary from wine sommeliers. Cost is $20 in advance & $25 at the door. Wines by the bottle are also available to purchase from Cork, Keg & Spirits and Vino e Birra. Ticket includes 8 tastings and a souvenir glass. This festival is held in the shadow of the landmark Stone Avenue METRA Station along Burlington Avenue between Brainard and Waiola Avenues. Convenient free parking is available in the commuter lot on Brainard at Burlington. Visitors may also take the Burlington Northern METRA to the Stone Avenue Station. Hours are 10am - 10pm on Saturday (limited artists open for browsing and purchase from 6pm - 10pm); 10am - 4pm on Sunday.
