We invite you to a three course dinner showcasing the wines and cuisine of a fascinating region served by American Airlines. The winemakers are characterized by their dedication to showcasing terroir and production of high-end wines. Each grape variety is hand- picked and carefully handled so as to maintain the fruit expression, and achieve wines with a singular unique style. Join us for an evening of some of the most exciting wines from Greece!
Winemaking and wine culture in Greece share an illustrious history that goes back thousands of years, evidenced by ancient winemaking artifacts that have been uncovered by archeologists and the impressive stone sculptures of Dionysus, the passionately revered god of wine. The Greek climate’s winning combination of ample sun, minimum rainfall and abundant poor soil sets the stage for the serious growing of quality wine grapes, while the regions indigenous grape varieties allow the wines to be some of the world’s most unique and interesting.
While Greek wine surely has history, climate and uniqueness to set it apart, still, it’s the region’s winemakers who are responsible for bringing Greek wine back into vogue in more recent years.
Today’s winemakers in Greece, with a nod to antiquity, are blending the use of the country’s indigenous varieties with modern winemaking technology to create wines that are not only memorably unique but also elegant and refined, with quality being at an all-time high in the region.
