1. 2017 Monte Tondo Garganega Frizzante (Veneto, Italy) – What the heck? Trust me, this is going to become your new favorite summer white. 100% Garganega, the headlining grape of Soave, this one is bottled with a bit of trapped CO2, resulting in a lightly spritzy white wine. It’s a bit richer than a Vinho Verde or Txakoli, but it’s still fresh and fun.

2. 2017 Domaine les Aphillanthes Cotes du Rhone Rose (Rhone Valley, France) – This estate makes some of my favorite wines in the Southern Rhone, and their rose is no exception. Almost equal parts Grenache and Cinsault, this is always a lighter, fresher, and more perfumed Cotes du Rhone Rose. Look for notes of white cherry, citrus, and aromatic herbs. I love the vivaciousness of this wine.

3. 2016 Anton Bauer Pinot Noir (Wagram, Austria) – Austrian Pinot Noir huh? Yep, they’ve been growing the grape there since the 14th century, and this one just received 93 points from Wine Enthusiast! Tasting easily like a $30+, Central Coast California Pinot, this one soars with aromas and flavors of ripe cherry/black cherry, strawberry, spice, and earth notes. Medium bodied, velvety, and worth every penny, Pinot lovers will freak out over this one.
