First stop is Beauregard Vineyards and Tasting Room in Bonny Doon, where the Beauregard family has been growing and selling wine grapes for 4 generations. Enjoy a tasting of Ryan Beauregard’s latest creations, followed by a picnic in the shade of the redwood trees.
Next, it’s time for a wonderful tasting at McHenry Vineyard, normally closed to the public. This tiny vineyard & winery was founded by UC Santa Cruz founding Chancellor Dean McHenry in the early 1970’s and continues to be a small family-run operation, completely focused on Pinot Noir. They make a small variety of wonderful Pinots including a 777 Dijon clone and a Swan clone Pinot.
Finally, we’ll enjoy a tasting at Big Basin Vineyards, where we’ll try Pinot and Syrah, two of their specialties! Big Basin makes very handcrafted wine – their grapes are organically-grown on estate vineyards, and winemaker-owner Bradley Brown is extremely passionate and dedicated to creating the best expression of his unique and historic terroir.
This tour is limited to 14 people due to the small vehicle we use to visit these particular wineries – sign up soon!
