We’re thrilled to have Paddy Borthwick visit us to share his family’s New Zealand wines. Dating back to his great-great grandfather, Sir Thomas Borthwick who was a pioneer in the meat trade, Paddy’s family has been in the farming business.With 27 hectares of vines along the Ruamahunga River in Gladstone, Borhwick Vineyards produces some of New Zealand’s most distinctive wines. Paddy summed up his family’s passion for winemaking, “…we believe in the four P’s of Wine: Place, People, Passion, and Philosophy.” To that we add a fifth “P” - Paddy! Thanks to Allison Henricks of RNDC, we’ll be tasting several of those wines with Paddy while learning about what it takes to produce exceptional wines including: Paddy Borthwick Paper Road CPR, Paddy Borthwick Wairarapa Sauvignon Blanc, Paddy Borthwick Paper Road Pinot Noir and New Zealand’s Te Awanga Estate Mister Hawke’s Bay Syrah.
