Local Event
Cost: $55.00
The Institute of Masters of Wine is delighted to announce the second in our series of "half-blind" tasting in New York City. Here we will focus on a group of wines from one grape variety across several regions with limited information announced beforehand. A series of MW-style questions will be distributed with the wines, and students are encouraged to write their answers as they would for an exam.
As with our Jura tasting, this event is not limited to Masters of Wine or MW students: it is open to anyone who would like to taste through the wines, and completion of the questions is not mandatory. We will taste six wines in an hour, and a panel of three Masters of Wine will conduct a one-hour debrief of the wines following the tasting. The tasting will be strictly limited to 20 tasters and tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
Response to the Riesling topic was overwhelmingly positive. We hope that you will join us to taste interesting bottles from Fritz Haag, Robert Weill, Bassermann-Jordan, Trimbach, F.X. Pichler, and more.
