Guidobono Piemontese Wines with Andrew
Wed, July 11, 2018, 5-7pm (20% off sale all day)
Guidobono is a fine family owned winery in Piemonte. They make great value wines with all the local varieties. Lori and Ray were impressed with their passion and attention to detail when visiting Guidobono. Stop in and taste fiveof their wines, with Andrew from Ideal pouring and telling you all about them.
Guidobono, Segrete Vigne Extra Brut (2013), Nebbiolo, Sparkling, Piedmont, Italy, Y, The name means secret vines because Italian wine laws in do not allow the name of the varietal to appear on the label for sparkling wines vinified with classic champenois method. Bone dry, but rich and zesty. Fine mousse and long finish
Guidobono, Arneis, Soft White, Piedmont, Italy, Y, This lovely wine is bright and fresh, with good acidity; with scents of pear and almond; lime and honeydew melon in the mouth, smooth
Guidobono, Nebbiolo d'Alba, Bold Red, Canale, Piedmont, Italy, Y, Elegant bouquet of violets and leather with earthy notes; continuing in the mouth, with nice tannins and good length
Guidobono Loreto, Nebbiolo, Bold Red, Piemonte, Italy, Y, Leather, roses, mushrooms and dark fruits on the nose and in the mouth; ample in the mouth with soft tannins; better than many Barolos
Guidobono, Birbet, Brachetto, Dessert, Piemonte, Italy, Y, This slightly frizzante sweet wine has copious red fruit and nice mouthfeel as the bubbles tickle the palate. Great with chocolate and/or red berry desserts.
