Cost: All-Inclusive: $175 Per Person VIP Ticket, $1000 6-Pack VIP (6 tickets), $100 General Admission

Steel Magnolias, an all-volunteer Long Beach-based organization, has announced the theme for its annual and much anticipated Signature Event.  Bon Appétaste, a culinary celebration of food, wine and spirits, will take place Sunday, August 26 from 4-8pm at Friedmans Home Experience in Long Beach.  VIP tickets are $175 each or 6 for $1000; regular admission is $100.  Tickets, which are all-inclusive, can be purchased at Eventbrite.com – search Steel Magnolias.

Bon Appétaste will feature four award-winning chefs, including Pete Lehmar of Gladstone’s, Raquel Jubran of Lasher’s Kitchen, Louise Solzman of Delius and Andre Angles of Thai District, conducting cooking demonstrations throughout the evening.  Brad Fry, head mixologist behind the bar at Chianina Steakhouse, will educate guests on how to make drink-worthy handcrafted cocktails.

“For one low price, guests will enjoy an all-inclusive wine and food experience,” said Hilda Sanchez, president of Steel Magnolias.  “While our goal is to raise funds for the Stramski Children’s Developmental Center, we’re also hoping to do some “friend-raising” by attracting guests who may never have attended one of our events.  And nothing brings people together like chefs, wine, cocktails and some fabulous auction opportunities.”

Sanchez went on to add that the evening will be a Sunday Fun-day gathering with the Architects of Jazz providing Rat Pack-style entertainment.  Stella Artois will be pouring beer in keepsake chalices and local food trucks and eateries, including Lobsta Truck, Naples Rib Company and Taco Surf, will be feeding guests.  Dessert will feature Cutie Pies, individual Mason jar pies, from The Pie Bar

VIP guests will enjoy a more curated experience from 4-5pm with a Tattinger Champagne toast, exclusive chef and mixology demos prior to the doors opening, a selection of premium wines to enjoy, and opportunities to purchase select and one-of-a-kind auction experiences items.

“Our VIP-only experience is reserved for a limited amount of guests,” added Sanchez.  “It’s such a great value for just $175 per person or a $1000 for six guests and puts you up close and personal with the chefs, gets you in the door ahead of everyone else, and is a great opportunity to further support a wonderful cause.”

Bon Appétaste, the theme for this year’s Steel Magnolias’Signature Event, will take place on Sunday, August 26 from 4-8pm at Friedmans Home Experience in Long Beach. ABOUT STEEL MAGNOLIAS:

The Steel Magnolias is an all-volunteer organization whose main recipient is the Stramski Children’s Developmental Center that has been dedicated to children and families since 1975. The center helps children and families deal with conditions such as autism, cleft lip and palate, birth defects, learning problems, and other developmental delays. The center also has clinics specializing in sleep disorders and international adoption. It is at the forefront of the study of Fragile X Syndrome. Although many of these children’s conditions are “invisible,” they are often serious and accompanied by a lifetime of challenges. Very few of these problems are “quick-fixes” — they require numerous consultations and extensive pre- and post-consult work. Often, parents have difficulty advocating for their children due to cultural, educational and language differences. The Stramski Center fills this gap by facilitating access to services and monitoring progress. Using a multidisciplinary approach, the center is able to provide individualized care to help children reach their optimum potential. Each year, the Stramski Center completes more than 6,000 child visits, treating kids with serious, often life-long, medical conditions so they can achieve their highest potential.
