The term "Natural Wine" is a moniker for wines produced using minimal intervention in the cellar and organic or biodynamic practices in the vineyards. This category of wine may seem new to many, but the Natural Wine movement has been around for a long time, with such pioneers as the late Marcel Lapierre from Beaujolais and Didier Barral, of Domaine Leon Barral in Faugeres, leading the way. Today, "Natural Wine" is one of wine's hottest categories, with numerous sold-out festivals taking place all around the world. In fact, Chicago hosted it's second annual Natural Wine festival earlier this year called "Third Coast Soif," a popular tasting that quickly sold out.
If you're already engulfed in the world of "Natural Wine," or if you are curious and would like to dive deep to learn more, then please join us at our Elston Avenue store on Wednesday, June 20th, for our third annual Natural Wine tasting, Summer "Au Naturale!" We'll be popping the corks on over 40 unique and delicious wines from big-name importers such as Louis Dressner Selections and Kermit Lynch to smaller, under-the-radar gems from Selection Massale, Jenny & Francois, Brazos, Vom Boden and many more! The line-up will feature plenty of fizzy pet-nats and sparklers, porch-pounding Roses, ripping whites, skin-contact orange wines and chillable, chugable reds, all thoughtfully selected by Vin Chicago's own Hunter Logan. We'll also have plenty of tasty bites on hand from the local Vietnamese restaurant "Saigon Sisters."
So put on your adventure hat and come out to one of our most unique and diverse tastings of the year. We promise a great time will be had, and you'll be sure to discover something new and delicious to enjoy during Chicago's warm and sunny summer!
