McHale is a Southern Californian native, raised in Huntington Beach. He spent his childhood playing the guitar and writing songs with his brothers. Later in his teens McHale formed a band name Down in Red with his oldest brother Andrew and played lead guitar until age 18 when he finally found his voice. He admits it took a lot of practice. The band played in various venues but broke up on the road in Tahoe after two years. To make ends meet he played in various bands in Portland and Utah for several years and then decided to finally return to California. At this time, he was offered a job to fish commercially in Alaska and jumped at the opportunity. Being a commercial fisherman was a hard but amazing experience for McHale. For 5 years he would fly back to Los Angeles at the end of the fishing season and his music career began to take off, winning music showcases and recording songs with professionals within the industry. He is eager to share his music with others and interact with his new friends as he navigates his musical journey.
