Red Wines for Grilling and BBQ

By now we’ve all started to use our grills, and may be planning a BBQ. For meat selections, or anything with spicy sauces, a full flavored red wine may be a good pairing. Wednesday we’ll have three open for you to taste. They’re all the same price, discounted to under twenty dollars and 25% off cases, solid or mix and match, your choice. The first is a Rhone Valley red blend from Vacqueyras, possible the best little-known area in the Rhone. The second is somewhat unusual, a Tannat blend from Uruguay. Taste it and you’ll see why it’s included. We can’t leave out a red zinfandel, the Optima which has classic juiciness yet is complex and balanced.
