French Whites
Wednesday, June 6th
Trapp Family Lodge Wine Cellar
I offered this tasting about a month ago but it was one of the first beautiful spring days of the season and no one wanted to come inside to the cellar. I have complete faith in these wines so I offer again.
France in so many ways still feels like the spiritual home and genesis of the American wine industry and the source of much of the American wine consumer’s knowledge for that matter. Though there have been more Italian-Americans than French-Americans engaged in the propagation and production of American vines and wines most of our popular grapes began in France; Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc to name a few.
Today we’ll taste 5 whites from the Loire Valley, Bordeaux and Burgundy.
Price is $20. Please call or see the front desk to place reservations. 802 253-5742. Doors open @ 4:00. I suggest you arrive no later than 5:00 to avoid feeling rushed. People come and go during the tasting which is an informal walk around format. We end at 6:00
