California Wine Tasting With Goldschmidt Vineyards

After the great success of our 2017 Rosé tasting, we are excited to host another exclusive walk-around tasting featuring Nick Goldschmidt, owner and winemaker of Goldschmidt Vineyards in California. The tasting will focus on a wide range of Nick's highly-acclaimed Cabernet Sauvignons from Alexander and Napa Valley.

Originally hailing from New Zealand, Nick Goldschmidt settled in California with his wife in 1989 and worked as a winemaker at Simi Winery, becoming chief winemaker in 1991. During his tenure, he and his wife established their own line of wines with the release of the Goldschmidt Vineyards brand focusing primarily on making world-class Cabernet Sauvignon. Their goal is to create wines that highlight the distinct characteristics from their specific vineyard sites in both Alexander Valley and Napa Valley Oakville, many of which are located adjacent to other highly regarded wineries including Opus One, Silver Oak, and Groth.

This event will be a walk-around tasting featuring 11 wines from Goldschmidt Vineyards (listed below), including their Cabernet Sauvignon from the prestigious vineyards of Yoeman in Alexander Valley and Game Ranch in Oakville. 

The tasting will be held across the street from Calvert Woodley at the beautiful new Student Center at the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) on June 13th between 5-7pm. UDC is conveniently located at the Van Ness metro station or there is parking on site. The cost of a ticket is $25 and includes a buffet of gourmet cheeses, breads, and charcuterie from our very own La Cheeserie & International Deli.
