Please join us Wednesday, May 30th any time between 4:30-7:30 pm, when we welcome Rod Berglund, Kathleen Inman, Anthony Beckman and Steve MacRostie to our wine bar. They are part of the talented winemaking team behind our Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant Pinot Noir lot from the 2017 SonomaCounty Barrel Auction which we will all proudly present together for this first-ever exciting flight!
The Sonoma County Barrel Auction is an annual event presented by the Sonoma County Vintners that allows consumers and the trade alike to taste barrel samples and purchase ‘futures’ in wine lots created in collaboration between a group of winemakers to highlight specific neighborhoods and appellations within this incredible county. Every year, a team of ‘masters’, top wine professionals from around the country, are invited to evaluate each lot and participate in the festivities. Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant and Oxbow Cheese & Wine Merchant owners, Peter Granoff, M.S. and Debbie Zachareas, are among this esteemed group of masters and are very proud to present the Russian River Valley Winegrowers ‘Neighborhoods Exploration’ lot of 2016 Pinot Noirs they purchased last year, which is now in bottle and ready for all to enjoy!
Proceeds from the event are used to support Sonoma County marketing initiatives and this year’s event raised a record $840,700 with a good portion of donations going towards the Sonoma County Vintners Relief Fund (for those affected by the October wildfires). This will be an excellent opportunity to enjoy these extremely limited (only four cases of each), one-of-a-kind wines which were made to benefit such worthy causes.
The cost of the flight will be $42 and will include a two ounce taste of each of the following wines from these wineries and winemakers:
