We wine lovers here in the United States tend to think of the name of a grape varietal when ordering a wine such as Chardonnay or Cabernet Sauvignon to name two of the most popular varietals.

 

But varietal blends both white and red are becoming more popular.

 

Truth is you may be drinking more blends than you realize.  For example, a wine labeled as Cabernet Sauvignon from California need only contain 75% Cab. Sav.  The remaining 25% can be any cheap red grape the winery wants to get rid of and they don’t have to mention it on the label.

 

But for this tasting we will try 5 more dramatic blends, 3 whites and 2 reds, deliberate blends acknowledged on the label.

 

 

 

Price is $20.  Please call or see the front desk to place reservations.  802 253-5742.  Doors open @ 4:00.  I suggest you arrive no later than 5:00 to avoid feeling rushed.  People come and go during the tasting which is an informal walk around format. We end at 6:00
