Local Event
Cost: $25 per person
The Lehigh Valley Wine Trail is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Lehigh Valley American Viticultural Area in 2018 with a brand new event to encourage wine lovers to buy and drink local wine in June.
The Vintner’s Experience features unique experiences at each of the trail’s eight member wineries on weekends in June, which will expose customers to the wine making process in a fun and educational way.
One $25 ticket gets customers into all 8 experiences. They are allowed to attend each winery’s experience once. A list of experiences with descriptions can be found on the event web site. Each winery’s experience is offered once each weekend in June, so customers have four times during June to attend it.
Highlights include the Summertime Sippers Class at Clover Hill, the Creative Cocktail Class at Franklin Hill, Très Rosé – the wine of today! at Galen Glen, and the Cellar Experience Blending Trials at Vynecrest, among others.
To purchase tickets, visit www.LehighValleyWineTrailMonth.com to be directed to ticket sales on EventBrite. After purchasing tickets, customers are taken to the Sched web site where they will create their own custom schedule of Experiences they plan to attend.
The Lehigh Valley AVA is a federal designation that officially recognizes the region for grape growing and wine making. In 2008 the members of the wine trail worked together to formally apply for the AVA designation from the federal government. Wineries whose wines are made from grapes grown within the region are permitted to put “Lehigh Valley” on their labels as the source of origin.
Lehigh Valley Wine Trail Month is supported by a grant from the Pennsylvania Winery Association in Harrisburg.
