Zachys Annual Braai is Back! For those who may not know, the earliest archaeological evidence places the first barbecue in a cave in South Africa over 400,000 years ago, and the word Braai means to barbeque or grill in Afrikaans. Those who attended Zachys first Braai in 2017, may be asking yourselves “how could Zachys top that!?” Easy, this year we’ve invited the producers and owners from eight benchmark South African estates to join our 2nd Annual Braai! From winemakers to owners and estate directors, we have some of the region’s top personalities flying over 7,800 miles from South Africa to Scarsdale to share their wisdom, passion and talents with our guests Friday, May 11th from 3pm to 7pm.

Join us to taste 25+ South African wine selections paired with traditional fare from the land that invented barbeque, along with a few modern American classics that are perfect with any budget. While Zachys Braai maybe be a little unconventional, one underlying trait remains — the camaraderie of sipping wine around an open flame and enjoying great food with friends and family.
