Curious about biodynamic wine? In honor of Earth Day, the CIA at Copia is celebrating with a walk-around wine tasting that highlights some of our favorite local biodynamic wine producers! Featured wine will be available for purchase (while supplies last).
What is biodynamics:
Biodynamics presents the connection between the soil, the animals that inhabit it, and the natural cycles that shape them both. The whole vineyard is viewed as a living, interconnected organism and its farming is determined by the position of the sun, moon, and planets. Balanced and self-sufficient, these vineyards don’t require synthetic fertilizers, weed-killers, or insecticides. This sensible farming system enhances the vineyard’s health, which in turn, provides less costly, larger, and more healthful yields in a balanced environment.
