Setting:
You have been asked to attend a dinner at The Brown Derby hosted by Mr. Meyer Kaplan, the famed film impresario. The dinner is to honor Cole Porter, who will be writing the score and book for a new musical film based on Shakespeare’s “Taming of the Shrew”, as well as to solicit “Angel” investment in this new production. You’ll be at the Brown Derby at 1628 North Vine which, due to proximity to many studios, played a far larger role in Hollywood society and history than did the newer hat-shaped restaurant which was on Wilshire Boulevard. Just before the start of dinner, it is discovered that Meyer Kaplan is found dead in the meat locker! Help solve this mystery set in old Hollywood, a time and place that exists only in memory now.
