Meet the Cidermaker: Walker Fanning
Located just south of Lake Waubesa in McFarland you will find a true Wisconsin orchard and cider maker - Cider House of Wisconsin. They are one of the few Wisconsin makers who have their own orchard, pressing facility and ferment their own cider. Let me tell you, these are some of the tastiest, balanced farmstead ciders we have had the pleasure of trying. With three different cider varieties (Pooch semi-sweet cider, Black Dragon dry cider, Cherry Flight Door County Cherry cider) and one very special "metheglyn" Meowee Wowee. Metheglyn begins as a Cyser (apple juice and honey fermented) and then they steep a spice blend including fresh ginger and fresh lemon to enhance the magic and create a methyglyn. A great chance to get out, try some cider, and support some hometown businesses in the process - see you there!
